Meeting Minutes
November 14, 2023

1) Call to Order/Roll Call:

President Spakowicz called the meeting of the Village of Pewaukee Police Commission to order at 5:33 p.m. on November 14, 2023. Commissioner Rohde conducted a roll call.  
The following persons were present: Commissioners William Gehrking, Pete Rohde, Jeff Bublitz, Jodie Borchman and President Dave Spakowicz. Chief Timothy Heier and Sgt. Foth was also present.

2) Citizen Comments

There were no citizen comments. Chief Heier had no Citizen concerns to report.

3) Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting
The minutes of the March 7, 2023, meeting was presented for review.
Commissioner Gehrking made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Secretary Rohde seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

The minutes for May 16, 2023, meeting was presented for review.
Commissioner Gehrking made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Commissioner Bublitz seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

4) Closed Session
President Spakowicz made a motion that the Police Commission move into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statues Section  19.85(1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the
governmental body had jurisdiction or exercises responsibility specifically regarding Police Officer candidates.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Borchman. A roll call vote was taken by Secretary Rohde.
The motion passed unanimously.

The commission moved into closed session at 5:38 p.m.

5) Reconvene into Open Session
President Spakowicz made a motion to reconvene into open session. Commissioner Gehrking seconded the motion.
Secretary Rohde took a roll call vote and the motion passed unanimously.
The Commission reconvened into open session at 7:18 p.m.

6) Possible Action on Police Officer Candidates
Commissioner Borchman made a motion to forward the names of Daniel Croft, Karalyn Dehn and Robert Floral to Chief Heier to continue forward in the hiring process.  Commissioner Bublitz seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

7) Closed Session
Secretary Rohde made a motion that the Police Commission move into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statues Section 19.85(1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body had jurisdiction or exercises responsibility - specifically regarding Deputy Chief candidate.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Borchman. A roll call vote was taken by Secretary Rohde.
The motion passed unanimously.  

The commission moved into closed session at 7:44 p.m.

8) Reconvene into Open Session
Secretary Rohde made a motion to reconvene into open session. Commissioner Borchman seconded the motion. Secretary Rohde took a roll call vote and the motion passed unanimously.

The Commission reconvened into open session at 8:17 p.m.

9) Possible action on Deputy Chief Candidate
President Spakowicz made a motion to recommend Sgt. Foth to the Chief for the Deputy Chief position.
Commissioner Bublitz second the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

10) Adjournment
Commissioner Gehrking made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Commissioner Borchman.
The motion was passed unanimously.
President Spakowicz adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m.
