The Village of Pewaukee seeks a full-time Utility Operator!

The Village of Pewaukee (pop. 8,215) is the home of a beautiful lake community.  

Applications for a full-time Utility Operator are currently being accepted.  

Utility Operators are responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, wastewater transmission lines, and lift stations; including system monitoring and record keeping, water system repairs, system flushing, inspection, hydrant maintenance, valve exercising, water meter replacement, sampling and testing, diggers hotlines and after hour emergencies calls.  

Experience in electrical, plumbing, and/or excavation is a plus.  

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with the ability to be available for 24-hour call-in for emergencies and winter operations.  Weekend stand-by duty is required on a rotating basis.

Successful candidates shall possess a high school diploma/GED, and a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.  A certificate/license in Groundwater, Distribution, Wastewater, and Collection Systems is desired.  

Starting pay range: $26-$30/hour

Full-Time Temporary Summer Employees

 

The Village of Pewaukee is seeking motivated individuals over 18 years of age for full-time summer employment focusing on aquatic plant collection, and village ground maintenance. Duties may vary but will generally be dedicated to harvesting and collecting lake weeds, and maintenance of Village properties and buildings. Must be willing to work outside all day in most weather conditions.  

Applicants must possess the ability to operate aquatic plant harvesting and collecting watercraft, drive a truck and trailer combination, and operate small machinery such as zero-turn lawnmowers.  Training in the operation of the equipment will be provided. Wisconsin law requires those born on or after January 1, 1989, to pass a boater safety course and to carry a boater education card.

Hours will be 7 am – 3 pm, Monday through Friday. The starting rate of pay for the position is $16.00 per hour.  An overview of this job can be viewed in the job description.
