Garbage and Recycling Collection

The Village contracts Waste Management (formerly Advanced Disposal) for curbside pick-up of refuse and recycling at single-family residential homes. Commercial and/or multi-family residences do not typically fall under the Village contract for services.  

Things to know about trash and recycling in the Village:

Trash pick-up is serviced with curbside or up-the-drive service.

Automated trash pick up (curbside service) is every Monday (may be moved in the case of a holiday)Up the drive/alley pick up, trash pick up is every Thursday (may be moved in the case of a holiday) All trash must be inside the bin provided - no bags outside of the receptacle will be collected

Recycling is picked up every other Monday according to the schedule (Thursday for up-the-drive services)

  • If you live west of Hwy 16 you are an 'A' day
  • If you live east of Hwy 16 you are a 'B' day

Does the Village contract include bulk item pick-up?

Each residence on our contract is allowed one bulk item per week Contact Waste Management at 262-369-3080 to arrange the pick-up before placing your item on the curb - they will tell you when the truck will be around to pick it up

Seasonal DPW Services

The Department of Public Works offers the seasonal curbside services listed below throughout the year. The scheduled dates can be found on the Village Calendar. Please note that collection dates are subject to change without notice depending on weather conditions. 

Typically Spring brush pickup is completed in April and leaf pickup from October through November. Pickups are weather permitting and can change without notice. Please view the Village Calendar for pickup schedules

  • Spring brush collection is scheduled for ONE WEEK typically in April of each year. Please check the calendar of events to find out when brush pick up will begin.
  • Brush piles must be placed at the curb and not in the street prior to 7 a.m. on Monday of that week
  • DPW employees make one pass around the Village to collect brush
  • Brush must be 6 inches or less in diameter and no longer than 6 feet long
  • This is for brush only
    • No leaves or yard waste will be collected
    • No individual pick up date or time will be scheduled
  • Fall leaf collection is scheduled for two or three weeks, typically in October of each year
  • Leaf piles must be placed in the street prior to 7 a.m. on the Monday of each "start" week
  • DPW employees make one pass around the Village each week to collect leaves
  • This is for leaves only
    • No grass clippings, sticks, brush or yard waste will be collected
    • No individual pick up date or time will be scheduled
  • Christmas tree collection is scheduled for one week, typically the first week of January of each year
  • Christmas trees must be placed at the curb and not in the street prior to 7 a.m. on Monday of that week
  • DPW employees make one pass around the Village to collect trees
  • This is for Christmas trees only
    • No other materials or yard waste will be collected
    • No individual pick up date or time will be scheduled
