Speed limit and speed humps
The Village Board directed staff to place speed humps seasonally, from approximately May 15 to approximately September 15th along the lakefront, to help slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety. The speed hump installation aligns with the previously established seasonal lakefront speed limit of 15 mph.
Anti-Cruising Ordinance
On May 6, 2025, the Village Board passed Ordinance 2025-03 regarding the Prohibition of Cruising. "Cruising" is defined in the ordinance as driving a motor vehicle past a Traffic Control Point on a Highway in the Designated Area more than twice in any two-hour period between the hours of 11:00 am and 11:00 pm between May 1 and October 31 in a manner and under circumstances manifesting a purpose of unnecessary, repetitive driving.
