Pewaukee Ordinance #2016-05 deals with registered sex offender loitering and residency. The ordinance outlines loitering provisions and restricts where registered sex offenders can reside within the Village of Pewaukee. The ordinance establishes “Child Safety Locations” as areas where there may be a high concentration of children. Such areas include public parks, schools, and daycare facilities. Specifically, the ordinance restricts sex offenders from residing within 1,500 feet of these designated “Child Safety Locations”. In addition, the ordinance also establishes an “Original Domicile Restriction”. This restriction dictates that no individual who has ever been convicted of a sex crime against a child may reside in the Village of Pewaukee, unles he/she resided in the Village at the time of their offense. Lastly, the ordinance places restrictions on the involvement of registered sex offenders in holiday events, such as “Trick or Treat”, as well as various other public gatherings within the Village of Pewaukee. For an official map of the child safety zones, please contact the Village Clerk’s Office. View Ordinance No. 2016-05 and Map Questions? Sgt Matt Carney (262)691-5678 ext: 238
