What is the difference between the Village of Pewaukee and the City of Pewaukee? They are two different municipalities. The shared name can make it confusing sometimes. If you are a visitor, you can tell by addresses. If the address begins with a number like W240 N3065 Pewaukee Road, then you are in the city. If the address is a 3 or 4 digit address like 235 Hickory or 1275 Capitol Dr. you are in the village. Where can I find the Village of Pewaukee ordinances or municipal codes? Click here Does the Village have overnight parking restrictions? Yes, we have year long parking restrictions. Vehicles or trailers may not be parked on village streets from 2:00AM to 6:00AM without a permit. Residents who need to park their cars on the street can do so by obtaining a parking permit in advance at the village police department for $11.00 per month.  All cars are required to park alternate sides odd and even depending on the date.  The restrictions are from 2:00AM to 6:00AM, so you want to make sure your car is on the  side of the street in the morning that coincides with the date. But what if I have an out of town visitor? If visitors need to park on the street, call the overnight park line at 262-691-5677. The following information is needed: license plate, description of the car and location. Visitors are allowed three overnight parks per month before the ordinance requires a parking permit be purchased. What are some of the restrictions on the Lakefront? No alcoholic beverages are permitted without a permit issued by the village. No dogs in the park (yes that includes the lake). No grills on the lakefront. Swim in designated areas. No fishing in the swimming area. Lakefront Park is closed from 10:00PM to 6:00AM I need to get myself fingerprinted for a license or permit . Does the department do this? Yes, we are happy to provide this service to anyone on an "as available" basis. Please call for an appointment at 262-691-5678 ext. 227 and we will try to make an officer available. Please understand that even with an appointment, an emergency situation may preclude an officer from being available.  A $20.00 charge is assessed for this service.
